Hannah makes me laugh

I was driving to work this morning and decided to call Mindy. I got a BIG surprise because Hannah answered the phone.

She was in her sweet morning voice and we chatted about Daddy being at work and she had already eaten breakfast. She asked me what I was doing and I told her that I had just dropped Mollie off at school and I was on MY way to work. etc.

Then she told me that she was going to go to Kroger with her friend Reese.

I said...OH BOY that sounds like FUN !!!

Silence................................................................................

Then a little voice says......I'm not a boy?.?.

I wish I had seen that look on her face. I've seen her do that "look" to her mommy. (i.e. pretending to talk on the phone...)

That was HILARIUS!!!! No Hannah, you are NOT a boy...Aunt Wendy just needs a different phrase I guess.

The Shack

As promised, my take on The Shack.Hmmmm...???I'm not sure how I feel about how the author portrays God. It may be too casual as Mindy and I discussed. I don't want to say too much in case you want to read the book but, I will say I think it gave an excellent outlook of what your relationship with the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit can be. It also made me excited about the potential of my personal relationship with God. It's definitely a book that will make you think and evaluate yourself. I would suggest that before anyone reads it, that you remember it is a fiction novel.

A favorite poem...by ee cummings

To my family...to my baby girl...

A favorite poem of mine by EE Cummings

i carry your heart with me

i carry your heart with me(i carry it in my heart)i am never without it(anywhere i go you go,my dear; and whatever is done by only me is your doing,my darling)i fear no fate(for you are my fate,my sweet)i want no world(for beautiful you are my world,my true)and it's you are whatever a moon has always meant and whatever a sun will always sing is you here is the deepest secret nobody knows(here is the root of the root and the bud of the bud and the sky of the sky of a tree called life;which grows higher than the soul can hope or mind can hide)and this is the wonder that's keeping the stars apart i carry your heart(i carry it in my heart) ee cummings

Fabulous, fabulous, fab-u-lous!!!

Well, we have been gone on the first vacation we have had in several years and it was FABULOUS!!!

I will share pictures and stories soon but for today...let me just say how wonderful it is was not to watch a clock.

I guess I am so used to being on a schedule and watching a clock that this was probably a subtle reality I didn't realize until I was two days into our vacation. I wasn't watching the time constantly. We got up when we woke up, went to bed when we got sleepy, and ate when we got hungry. This must be how rich people live.

The picture I shared above is our last night in Gulf Shores / Orange Beach. Can you see that we are happy and tired?

I don't read ROMANCE books!!!

That's right. I don't read ooooeeeeyyy goooooeeeyyyy romance novels. And I certainly do not do historical romance books! Yuck!

And that is exactly what I told my friend Lanell as she passed along this book, Redeeming Love, for me to read.

"Lanell" I said..."you know i'm probably going to toss this accross the room, right?".

And my friend said..."just stay with me on this one".

So, I did. It wasn't ANYTHING like I expected. Not a sticky sweet romance novel that makes you feel like your walking through syrup. Redeeming Love was about "real love".

So, without spoiling the book, I will give you a brief introduction. The time period of the book is set during the California gold rush. The story was of a young girl and her story beginning as she was taken into a brothol and prostitution at the age of eight. It tells of her life, her struggles, a Godly man, and salvation.

Thank you Lanell for making me stick with this one!!!

This is book 7 for the year.
