Aunt Mabel's Wardrobe

I was handed over the trusting custody of the piece of furniture you see here. If you follow my blog at all, you may remember my brother in law, Joe. (He gave me a Subway gift card not too long ago and I mentioned it.)
Joe's Aunt Mabel passed away and this was a piece of unclaimed furniture. Mollie and I did not have a place to store towels, etc in our bathroom so now, thanks to Joe and Aunt Mabel...we now have this beautiful wardrobe and I think of them both every time I see it.
Thank you Joe for letting me love and take care of this piece of Aunt Mabel's furniture. (You really are nice, I don't care what everyone else says. HAHAHA Kidding....)

My Feet

This posting is just a little reminder to someone and you know who you are. If you don't want to see my ugly feet again I suggest you get busy.

One of the things I miss....

I lived in North Carolina from the 6th grade through High School. One of the things I miss during the fall is the Chicken Stew. It's a traditional North Carolina dish. I found this recipe on line and it sounds about right. It's just chicken, milk, butter, flour, salt and pepper. Yummy!!!

SOUTHERN CHICKEN STEW

Ingredients:

1 Whole Chicken (or several boneless, skinless breasts)
1 Can Chicken Broth
Salt and pepper to taste
Milk
Butter
Flour

Preparation:

Parboil chicken in water until tender (usually about 2 hours). If using a whole chicken, break into bite-size pieces and strain all bones, fat, and skin from soup. Reduce heat and make thickening by mixing milk, flour, salt and pepper together until the lumps disappear. Mix thickening with soup and stir well. Add Texas Pete or other hot sauce to taste. Mix in chicken broth and reheat until bubbling

Another "stolen" Quote from Laura's Blog

"She turned to me & whispered, don't you just love it when you get so excited you forget to breathe? & the thought of her smiling eyes still makes me laugh." ~ Story People

Laura,
I don't know if you read my blog or not but thanks for the great quotes you find!!!
