Another Stephanie Book finished...

I am down to the last Janet Evanovich, Stephanie Plum book published to date.

It feels like family every time I pick up a Stephanie Plum series book now. You know all the characters and it feels comfy. Of course you could pick up any book and not read them in order and you wouldn't be lost but, I chose to read them in numerical order from One for the Money right up to, Sizzling Sixteen.

The next book is due out June 21st. YAY! The title is Smokin' Seventeen.
And...I read that on the back cover, there will be stickers.

If you've read the books, you know EXACTLY what these mean. I think it's a little like Team Edward and Team Jacob.

It would be VERY hard to choose between Morelli and Ranger.

Memorial Day Walmart findings...

Memorial Day was a do nothing, lazy day at our house. We went on an outing to WalMart and this is what we saw.

An Elly May Clampett Barbie / Beverly Hillbillies
If they have a Granny Barbie from the Beverly Hillbillies...I will be happy. But I did not see one. She might not be "Barbie" material.

And the other interesting thing we saw at WalMart on Memorial Day 2011 was this license plate.

This car tag most likely will not mean a thing to a lot of folks but, to me? It means something, someone, some place, very dear to me.
My Granddaddy Girdner was a car salesman, at...are you ready for it? The Ford Dealer in ANDALUSIA ALABAMA!!! And to see this tag in a Tennessee WalMart parking lot? Weird.

Some of my happiest childhood memories belong in Andalusia Alabama with my Granny and Granddaddy Girdner. And he sold a lot of Ford cars!!!

So, as you see Memorial Day was indeed a day of memory. Memories of childhood. Memories of Grandparents.

It was a good day.

A Mess O Greens

Mollie and I got a craving/hankering for turnip greens this past weekend. Yep...greens.
I decided to cook them...country style.
If you've never had greens they are yummy IF they are cooked right. If they are not cooked right...well...not so yummy.

Step 1

Wash 'em and wash 'em GOOD!!! In fact, soak them in cold water. Then rinse each leaf. (This is because, they were in dirt)

Step 2

Cook 'em. But, add some stuff first. I used a couple of pieces of bacon, some onion, and chicken broth.

Step 3

When they are dark green and looking like they are a fourth of the amount you started out with...(this is called cookin 'em down)....they are done.

Step 4

Eat 'em....

Another Book ....

Finger Lickin Fifteen....

Another Stephanie Plum Novel By Janet Evanovich....

The whole gang was in this one. Lula, Stephanie, Ranger, Grandma Mazur, Joe Morelli, and several other characters brought in the mix to make this another entertaining book about Stephanie, the bounty hunter.

As usual, I laughed out loud several times!!!

I am already on to the next book in the series. Sizzling Sixteen!

Double Feature Chicks....

You got that right. We were double feature movie going gals this weekend. You want to know why? Because... that's just how we roll. We had not been to a movie together in FOREVER...
So we hit up not one, but TWO movies this weekend.
Both had wedding themes although I don't think that it was intentional. In fact...I know it wasn't intentional.

First was Bridesmaids...

Bridesmaids is for you and your girlfriends only. It was crude in a few parts but there were some REALLY funny, belly laughing til you cry parts.
And oh how I needed a belly laugh. We were loud and laughing and enjoyed EVERY single minute of the fun.

The second movie we saw was...

Something Borrowed

This one made me "antsy". I wanted to yell at the selfish character and the spineless male character!!! And...come to think of it...I wanted to yell at the spineless female character too!!!
I'm not saying I didn't like it...I just wanted to yell at them.

All in all...it was a fun Double Feature Weekend with girl friends...

More Conversations With Mollie

Driving to Memphis....

Subject.... Cake

ME: What kind of cake should we make Grandpop for Father's Day?

Mollie: I don't know.

ME: Grandmom said he likes coconut but, I don't think anyone else does.

Mollie: I like coconut. I like that German Shepherd Cake.

ME: Blank Stare.

Pause....

ME: Did you mean... German Chocolate Cake?

Mollie: Whatever.

It makes me laugh!!!

I saw this picture on someones face book page and HAD to blog about it. It is soooo cute and fun!!! Plus it makes me laugh !!!!

Do you think any of the "royal" family watched Cinderella BEFORE planning what they wore on the big day??? He-he

Actually, here is the real Cinderella from Disney. I think someone had a good time "enhancing" the Royal's into Disney characters. But it's still fun.

Finger

I've lived in Henderson Tennessee a couple of times in my life. Once when I was in Elementary School and once when I was in College. Being a resident during those years, I became familiar with names of small communities and towns in the surrounding area.

As Mollie and I were driving this weekend, we passed by one of those towns which led to conversation and giggles.

I pulled off the road and took a picture of the sign.

Finger, Tennessee

( FYI....If you are a local, you pronounce it... Fanger )

Location?............................................... McNairy County
Population? ........................................... About 350 people
Total Area? ............................................ About 1.5 square miles
Famous Folks Birthplace? ............................. Lawman Buford Pusser
Giggling with your daughter at the name of the town?.... Priceless

(Another fun community name is Sweet Lips, Tennessee. I would love to know how it got it's name. he-he)

You might be a redneck if...

Mollie and I spent Mother's Day weekend traveling to see my parents. On the way home, we went through a McDonald's Drive Thru for a drink in Jackson, Tennessee.
This is what we saw....

All I could think was...

You might be a redneck if the speaker at your local McDonald's drive thru sits on a saw horse

Mollie and I giggled for sure!!!

Easter Peacock???

Sunday mornings....

Mollie and I take a short detour by the home of some Peacocks after worship most every Sunday morning. We call it "Peacock Hunting".

Easter Sunday was no different. Here is my favorite friend. I call him, Buddy.

Sugarland...Nashville...April 2011

A few weekends ago, Mollie and I went to Nashville. I had a Premier Jewelry training meeting to go to with Mindy and I also had been given tickets to a SugarLand concert. Mindy was going to go with me but as it turned out, Chris was not feeling well so, Mollie stepped in and went with me.

It was actually Mollie's first "official" concert. She has been to see a band at the county fair but never a "real" concert. We had a really good time.
