Origami

I went to a friend's house last Friday for a Jewelry/Open House Girls Night Out. Heather was gracious enough to invite me to display my Premier jewelry and join in the fun.

During the evening, Mollie and I saw some "paper birds" in baby Ellie's room and Heather explained what the birds were all about.

Heather's mother, Linda, passed away from cancer over a year ago. We learned that while she was battling cancer, a friend made Linda a thousand origami cranes.

Thousand origami cranes is a group of one thousand origami paper cranes. An ancient Japanese legend promises that anyone who folds a thousand origami cranes will be granted a wish by a crane, such as long life or recovery from illness or injury. In Japan, it is commonly said that folding 1000 paper origami cranes makes a person's wish come true.

Last night I decided to try folding such a crane and here are my first two. Notice one is bigger than the other. I folded them to represent Mollie and myself. A Mommy and baby. Also, they are special because I used Houndstooth printed paper. Roll Tide Cranes!!!

So, now only 998 cranes to go!!!

Pretzel Art Challange

I might have too much time on my hands. But none the less I created pretzel art for my child last night...
I would like to challange others to do the same and share. :)

Movie Times...

I've been lazy on the blogging. Sorry. So, while I've been lazy I have seen a few movies. Some I won't even bother telling you about because they were duds...Bleh!

Mollie and I have seen two recently though that I will tell you about...

First: The Help

Loved it! It made me laugh, cry, hurt, cheer, mad, and probably a few more emotions. I read the book first which I was glad but, the movie followed very closely. The movie left out a few things but it was very good.

Second: I Don't Know How She Does It

If you're a mom who juggles about a million things at once, you would appreciate this movie. I was actually pleasantly surprised. I wasn't expecting much to be honest but, as it turned out, it was quite enjoyable.
