VBS 2009

Yes. I know. It's been a long gap between posts. I have plenty of excuses. Work....it was crazy and there was overtime. Boring life...not much to report. etc.

But, I had a few pictures from Vacation Bible School and thought I would hop on here and post them.

There is a group pictre of the members of the skit "Esau Sells his Birthright".

And then there is one of Mollie laughing during singing.

Enjoy.

And I finished yet another one....

Yes, I finished another book this weekend. I think I've read all of Nicholas Spark's books except for one (waiting on my bedside table).
I've never been disappointed in one of his books. Of course I think my all time favorite was The Notebook, which by the way was the first book I've read that made me cry.
Bravo Mr. Sparks on another great read !
This is book number 11 for 2009.

Sunday's At Tiffanys

Book #10 of 2009 is James Patterson's, Sundays at Tiffany's. This was a quick read. I really enjoyed it because it held my interest but towards the end of the book I felt like the writer was trying to hurry and wrap the story up. So, that is my only complaint. I would recommend it as a light summer read in the hammock or on the beach.

Book 9 of 2009

Here it is. Book number 9 of 2009. Another in the Stepanie Plum series. It was good and I got a few laughs as usual. Stephanie is still one of my favorite fictional characters but, I wasn't as into this book as some in the past. Do you know how sometimes you might not me in the right frame of mind for a certain type of book?

Well I'm not sure I was in a bumbling bounty hunter mood.

I still would recommend the series!!!

Oh, and my home computer is on the blink so...sorry for the lack of blog.

Hannah makes me laugh

I was driving to work this morning and decided to call Mindy. I got a BIG surprise because Hannah answered the phone.

She was in her sweet morning voice and we chatted about Daddy being at work and she had already eaten breakfast. She asked me what I was doing and I told her that I had just dropped Mollie off at school and I was on MY way to work. etc.

Then she told me that she was going to go to Kroger with her friend Reese.

I said...OH BOY that sounds like FUN !!!

Silence................................................................................

Then a little voice says......I'm not a boy?.?.

I wish I had seen that look on her face. I've seen her do that "look" to her mommy. (i.e. pretending to talk on the phone...)

That was HILARIUS!!!! No Hannah, you are NOT a boy...Aunt Wendy just needs a different phrase I guess.

The Shack

As promised, my take on The Shack.Hmmmm...???I'm not sure how I feel about how the author portrays God. It may be too casual as Mindy and I discussed. I don't want to say too much in case you want to read the book but, I will say I think it gave an excellent outlook of what your relationship with the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit can be. It also made me excited about the potential of my personal relationship with God. It's definitely a book that will make you think and evaluate yourself. I would suggest that before anyone reads it, that you remember it is a fiction novel.

A favorite poem...by ee cummings

To my family...to my baby girl...

A favorite poem of mine by EE Cummings

i carry your heart with me

i carry your heart with me(i carry it in my heart)i am never without it(anywhere i go you go,my dear; and whatever is done by only me is your doing,my darling)i fear no fate(for you are my fate,my sweet)i want no world(for beautiful you are my world,my true)and it's you are whatever a moon has always meant and whatever a sun will always sing is you here is the deepest secret nobody knows(here is the root of the root and the bud of the bud and the sky of the sky of a tree called life;which grows higher than the soul can hope or mind can hide)and this is the wonder that's keeping the stars apart i carry your heart(i carry it in my heart) ee cummings
